Helping My Granny
Next week we visit my granny. I enjoy visiting her, though she’s become a little obstinate in her old age. I will not embarrass her by sharing her age, but let us just suppose she’s a lady with thoroughly seasoned wisdom.
I understand her daughter just brought by a litter of baby kittens for amusement. Of course, her daughter had to tolerate an extended lecture on kitten care. I’m sure my grandmother would have loved to retain a couple of the kittens, but they’re simply too much for her to manage at this stage.
I always see something enigmatic at her place when I see her. Last time, I found many guides on penny stocks on her coffee table. My nanna studying about penny stock trading? That is nuts. I wonder what I’ll find on her coffee table this time.
This month will make for a busy visit. I have to put in her new Emtek door knobs and air conditioner filters then fix her garden cart. I likewise need to take her old pots and pans to charity because she just bought a new set of pots and pans to supplant them. As a reward, she claims to also have purchased the best ice cream maker and the very best of all the electic coffee makers. I appreciate it, but I also must chuckle as she invariably claims to have or utilize only the very best of this or that.
If all proceeds well, she will utilize both to serve me some delicious java at dawn and ice cream in the evening. That sounds like more than pay back enough for my effort. I am happy to assist her for nothing, but a little rich java and tasty ice cream doesn’t bother me.
